How much is a fair amount for someone living with their parents to pay them for “rent”?

There are a bunch of fair answers depending on what youand the family agree to.
The truth is your presence and utilization of utilities and food may not add that much to their overall expenses. You should probably pay at least that.
Then again if you are the one that mows or cleans the house (not just your share) you might agree to reduce the cost by an agreed upon amount.
Check on Craig last or other sites to see what a room with access to the kitchen and other parts of the house might cost and that can give you another idea of what the market rate is.
The main thin is you don't want to be a freeloader if you can afford to pay your way.
