I’m starting to think my mom has paranoid schizophrenia.

So my mother seems to like having long ass conversations to me about people following her.In addition she mentions how a certain bird outside that makes noise is a camera or her phone being tapped. I think that she is driving herself crazy and I’m not entertaining this stupidity one bit. I’ve already told her to change her phone (even though the tapped comment is bullshit) which she still refuse to. I tried telling her if people were following her/us wouldn’t they have done something by now.The part with the bird being a camera is just silly.I can’t listen to this crap no more.She is seeing someone for counseling but I don’t know what she is saying.I may need to just take what my mother says as a joke because she living her life as if she’s in a damn spy movie.

Sounds more like just paranoia. Schizophrenia would’ve been noticed way before just now.

@SW-User Not necessarily.

@MartinTheFirst nothing she put makes it seem like she has schizo. There’s no symptoms of it, just the paranoia part.

@SW-User They usually come as a package deal, I've gotten to know a lot of people with paranoia and every single one of them had bipolar disorder as well as schizophrenia along with it.

The thing is that schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and paranoia are very similar. A distorted world view.

Well I read up on paranoid schizophrenia and my mom fits the bill quite a bit.

@SW-User Not really, with women, it can hit in the 30's-40's with no previous signs.
