If you can't pay attention to your kid(s) why on Earth did you have any?

You need enough money to provide a roof, health care, food, and education but also need to learn empathy, know right from wrong, and have an honest work ethic. Most of all they need to know someone cares about them. That's hard to do when one parent runs off when they're born or never loves them or the other parent.

True. My daughters dad ran off when she was born. He signed away his parental rights.

@SW-User they still have a chance of a normal life if you can find someone to help with them. I was a single dad after my son's mom ran off. I pulled in a lot of help from others. Scouts, coaches, music lessons, church, family, and friends. You might even find a guy who will take them in as his own. My friend Kristin died of cancer and her family would not take on the kids. They stayed with me until they were 18. Unfortunately they had been through too much. I couldn't do as much for them.

@Tastyfrzz someday maybe I will. Right now it's me and her. I'm Mommy and Daddy.
