Any Single Mum's with young boy's with ADHD?

My 9 year old boy has recently been diagnosed with ADHD.
My ex is not interested in meds..he believes that Our Son needs to exercise more..and add more activities out of school.
My heart breaks for my boy..He has learning issues and performance is low. This has affected his self confidence and does not want to go to school...
I could go on and on..
I feel like shit most of the time because he is struggling.
We have an appointment with a Behavior Specialists in a few weeks.
Hopefully she can set me in the right direction.

I’m not a single mother, but my son is ADHD and medicine will help him with school. It will help him to focus. Still get him outside. He does need that...your ex is right, but for school and learning time put him on medicine.

@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Thank you for your reply. Did he experience any side affects?
Just not hungry at all. Son would get quite angry when he was not on his medicine and hungry or tired. But on the medicine he is able to focus. I know your ex doesn’t want the meds for him, because he is young, but school is so important and this is the time to get him focused. I find that his diagnosis has come quite late as my son was diagnosed at age 6. He just could not sit still in the classroom and he was like a motor that could not slow down. He is a runner too so he is very active. Maybe your ex can get him involved in just being outside and running and playing. My son is so good at running that he ran 5km in 23 minutes. He’s amazing!! Get him away from electronics for long periods as it just makes things worse...get him medicated for school...get him a tutor where he can do one on one things and start learning and achieving...and get him outside and active. Any help I can give let me know. All children are different so see the specialist as well as a pediatrician. @wiltingflower
