For it. It ain’t easy for the adult male to have to go through it I can tell you that much.

@Keepitsimple It's not needed at all unless there is a medical issue.

It was and so when I had my boys it was a no brainer for me. @Quizzical

@Keepitsimple Well, if there was phimosis etc then that's perfectly understandable. Otherwise guys should be left intact.

That’s pretty interesting cause my husband doesn’t feel less intact and my son’s haven’t said anything. I will say from a woman’s perspective they are more aesthetically pleasing and I can’t tell the different with the missing foreskin.@Quizzical

@Keepitsimple Well, if a guy never remembers having one then he has no frame of reference. That doesn't make needlessly removing a body part any more 'right' though.

We don't really need earlobes but we don't chop them off left and right.

And as for the aesthetics for women, that's the absolute LEAST of the concerns that should be taken into account.

Bottom line is, it's a terrible, barbaric practice that needs to come to an end.

@Keepitsimple Why is it easier for an infant to go through, especially given that infants often get no anesthesia of any kind, and never get postop pain killers?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I’ve seen the aftermath for both. My husbands was a lot harder and my son’s slept very comfortably. If they were in pain they would have been screaming. @consa01

@Keepitsimple Was your husband given postop pain killers? Medication to suppress erections? Did your son get an injection of lidocaine at the outset? How can anyone know the pain a newborn boy goes through after being circumcised?
In Denmark, only one boy in 200 is cut before the 15th birthday, mostly for untreatable phimosis. Does it make sense to cut all boys at birth to prevent one boy in 200 from a circumcision later in life?
In Vietnam, any US soldier could request a circumcision at any time, but was given only 10 days of recuperation leave. This is why I have trouble making sense of claims that recovering from an adult circumcision is a protracted ordeal.

I’m not getting into a debate about it with you. It’s done. Over and done with.@consa01

@Keepitsimple Then do not post or comment about circumcision in social media. Routine infant circumcision is the biggest controversy in American pediatrics, and a huge open problem in the management of American sexuality.

Don’t tell me what to do. Just because my views don’t match yours doesn’t mean you get to tell me what to do. @consa01

@Keepitsimple I am not telling you what to do. If I were, you are entirely free to delete your comment. It is a blunt fact of life that anyone who takes part in social media will encounter some debate and disagreement. If it's too hot down here, you are free to leave the kitchen.
