@charley A huge but seldom spoken reason for American routine circumcision, is parents' fearing that an intact male will be laughed at lifelong, first by cut boys in the locker room, then later by the women he dates. Parents think that the eventual peers of their son will have the same low opinion of foreskin that the parents had when they were young. This is a very silly form of projection.
