In my opinion, male circumcision is the only form of sex negativity that has any traction at this time. FGM has no respectability among educated people. African women who have undergone FGM firmly deny that it is sex-negative for them. They may be deluding themselves, but there is no avowed sex-negative agenda backing FGM in Africa today.

@consa01 I'm honestly rethinking my statement and it occurs to me that our culture is actually more terrified of women enjoying sex, it basically expects men to, so much so they circumcise us to make us enjoy it less... Nobody bats an eye when we talk about fapping but if a girl talks openly about masturbating the sheer number of people who will doubt she's female if she's on social media is enormous and then the number of people who will claim it's unladylike...
