@Peaches Um... no it wasn't. My in-laws did something similar to my husband when he was about 5 years old. He started crying and left the living room. He sister teared up and stopped playing with her gifts. The parents called him back to the living room and told him that they were only kidding, that Santa had left presents. Why would they do something so cold to a child? It wasn't funny, and the suggestion made by Fernie isn't either if she truly believes it would get a point across to her kids.

@Autumnlover wow...you really took that out into the cosmos...It is a joke...pure and simple. I found it on another site...a HUMOR site and shared it...I don't have any kids and if I did I would not do that because it is totally dysfunctional...like your in-laws.
