I wrote a reply but I changed my mind about it, there's a better way to put it.
People will have their hard times... and when they're suicidal, then living with someone who will help them just by keeping them company can be their only light in their life. However, the one who lives with a suicidal person has to understand, that complaining about their situation won't help at all and that it will possibly only make it worse, and that they DO have a choice. You have a choice to not live with this person, you chose to stay with this person, because of that, you treat it for what it is, you chose this.
