Should my mother be talking to another guy?

She made a friend a long time ago and my dad ended up assuming she was cheating due a a Facebook photo of them hugging and now that he's forced her to change her number she still talks to him when my dad isn't home. Is this okay since she tells me to say hi to him and even at one time used my cellphone to contact him.
