Is everyone's dad so critical and makes you feel afraid of failure ?

I wish, that shows that he cares. But he never gave a damn about my success or failure, never been happy when I excelled at school. He has no idea what I chose to study and what I do now for a living!

Heck yeah, and sometimes I feel like it's worse if you're a girl :/
