Not as easy as it seems

It is funny, but I learned more about my family , after my mother passed away...

Going through the pictures, and the old documents that were left behind in the house that I left, I know now where exactly I come from, the actual address, and a lot of things that I didn't know about my mother. I see her pictures in short dresses, before the beautiful Egypt goes all Islamic.. It is like she was completely a different person that I never got to meet.

I can't believe that all these documents and pictures were in my room all of these years, but I never bothered to check them..

Took what I wanted to take, scanned sometime ago what I wanted to keep with me... the rest I am leaving behind.. But I think it is all in my head now, regardless.

These last weeks will all be about deciding what needs to stay and what needs to go.. Not as easy as it seems.

"Reading Lolita in Tehran" was about the difference between the way things changed after Islam started forcing their teachings on the people. Those countries used to be really free and progressive, it's sad that it changed.
