I never had any grandparents I knew of, but yours sound like they were amazing and treated you the right way. Give it some time, once the pain subsides you will recall all the things they told you, which you then can pass on to your kids or others

I think that depends on what role a grandmother plays in your life and family. But yes, if a grandmother has a prominent role in your life, it does create a very large hole in your life.
