I think parental control apps can be really helpful if they're used in a friendly and balanced way. They serve as a safety net, allowing parents to be aware of screen time, online risks, and any inappropriate content, rather than acting as tools for constant watching. When kids understand that monitoring is all about keeping them safe and not about controlling them, it leads to healthier conversations and builds trust. The important thing isn’t just the app itself, but how parents use it alongside clear rules, education, and open communication.

That’s a really very good question and will follow to see the results!
I am not sure there is a good answer.
Australia has put a law in place to protect children under 16 yet we saw that many adolescents have managed to get round it,
There is the question of parents letting their children be online and not taking their responsabilities

Won't help with the marginally smart kids.
It's the same story for decades.
You couldn't have stopped me from getting a pack of cigarettes in the 60s. Nor a Hustler.
Only thing that works is to monitor your own kids and don't even give them a Internet connected device.
Be the controlling monster, that they just love to hate.
