My middle sister had gone with her husband to visit his family members in Texas…

They returned this weekend, and last night she came here for a visit. We had snacks and planned to binge-watch some of Josh Johnson’s standup routines on YouTube. I have Paramount+, so there were also episodes of The Daily Show. I discovered my sister was actually not familiar with Josh Johnson, which surprised me. Like me, she enjoys Jon Stewart and Trevor Noah.

While she was en route, I called our other sister and asked her if she wanted to come up for a bit. She passed, saying that she and my niece had cooked and were planning to watch a movie with Pop, on tv. I asked her if she had ever seen Josh Johnson’s comedy.

"Yeah, from The Daily Show", now. He’s hilarious ! And cute, too—except he reminds me a little of Dionne (the middle sister), without makeup."

"Oooo…" I said.

"Hadn’t you noticed ? Their smiles are similar. He’s originally from Louisiana, so hey, he might even be a relative.”

So the other sister arrived, and we were watching the show. With the opportunity to look at them both, I looked at her, then looked at Josh on tv…and realized I could understand what our "baby" sister was saying.

Dionne was laughing and enjoying the show, when, without looking at me, she said,

"I do remember him. He’s the comedian my stepson says looks like me."

I asked, innocently, "oh, really ??"

At just that point on the show, the comedian gave the audience a broad side-eye.

Sis gave me an almost identical look.

I laughed so hard I almost fell off the futon.

How can you not fall of a futon even without provocation ? As soon as I reached out for an arm rest I’d be out the side door.
