copied & pasted. this brought tears to my eyes & truly how i feel about my grandpa. miss him everyday 💖
Grandpa never said no—
not when it came to hugs,
or one more cookie before dinner,
or sitting a little longer on the porch
just to count stars and listen to the crickets sing.
He had a “yes” in his eyes
that made the world feel safe.
A softness in his hands
that taught me strength wasn’t loud,
it was steady. It was kind.
He let me make mistakes
but never let me fall too far.
He showed me how to stand tall—
not by towering over others,
but by lifting them up.
He said little, but it meant a lot.
He taught me that love
isn’t always loud or showy,
but patient, present,
and always near.
Grandpa never said no—
but somehow, he taught me
when to say yes,
when to say sorry,
and when to stay true
to the goodness he saw in me.
Because of him,
I know how to be gentle and strong,
firm and fair,
humble and whole.
And I hope one day
someone sees me and says—
“I can tell… someone who loved you
never said no.”
