What would happen if US army around the world all went to south US border to stop El Salvador gangs going across and attacking Texas people?

We wouldn't need the whole US Army. Marines are better suited for operating on a river as they are exlected to know how to swim and ride in river boats. And only a small portion of the marine corps would be required to hold the border.... remmeber, the Marines wanted to have Afghanistan to themselves.

Marines can't constitutionally operate away from a border action in Texas (the president can hold the border and repel invaders like Pancho Villa from Texas, but not police shirt of declaring martial law. This wouldn't suspend the police, but it would suppress habeas corpus, rendering the civilian courts moot).

We would then have to police the F out of texas with out of state taskforces that are deputized to operate in Texas, Deputize the Texas National Guard, and send in Feds to police Federal laws relating to the gangs. That would take a while, but could be done.

There'd be considerable US casualties, fighting gangs who mix in with locals or scratch that, I think the Salvadorian cartels were so rich to the point they outfit themselves like a private military. Facing that on home turf would be deadly....
The standing active US Military is forbidden under the Posse Comitatus Act from actively engaging on US soil, however the National Guard is allowed to be sent to the Border, Trump will have the authority to call them up as soon as he's sworn back in on January 20, 2025.
