I Love My Cousin
Rhiannon is a year younger than me and we have always been really good friends. My uncle was in the armed forces and her family often moved around the country, but we always spent at least two weeks holiday together each year.
But since I started at boarding school last September she has been quite hostile towards me. My auntie says she is going through a difficult teenage phase. I have tried to help her, but it has been difficult to get near her which is upsetting.
Her family stayed at our house for Christmas and she was moody throughout the holiday. On Boxing Day she, my uncle and I went for a walk in the snow. She did not have proper walking clothes and was too stubborn borrow anything from me, so she ended up getting completely soaked.
When we got back she found she had not brought enough clean clothes to change into. My family knows how proud I am of my clothes and how I don't like people to mistreat them, so my auntie said I just needed to lend her my dressing gown to wear while her clothes were being washed. But I did not want her to feel uncomfortable by having only a dressing gown to wear all day, so I let her choose what she wanted from my wardrobe.
She didn't thank me at the time, but last night she phoned me and we were talking for three hours. She told me about things that were bothering her at school and in her life and at the end we were good friends again 馃檪 I am going to invite her to stay with me at school for a weekend 馃槍
