If I only knew this...

If I'd be born at the same life and in a poor family and be able to go abroad, work may @ss out with a 8-5 job and sometimes take a second job, to save money, and send financial help to my sisters help them out with their lives... I will not do it, just to please their expectations. I will help them, but not to the extent of worrying for them and while I have my two children not expecting anything luxurious or anything for more than I can give on an ordinary day.
Now years after, I realising that the people I helped, the next generations, don't really care how I supported them, helped them with their school fees, home and emergency needs.
Only years after did I realized this... They wait for your support, they expect for your help for their daily needs, but they will never include you to their plans, as they go on and grow as adults, and thrive to be a successful name in the family. For so many times I asked and suggested for plans to invest, they won't share their insights. You're not a part of their plans, but they expect you to provide whenever they needed one. But you will never be invited to their long term schemes success. Everything is all about them. They will hold things from you leaving you without a clue fo their financial investments, as they learn to handle their dreams, as they became capable to earn for themselves.
You will know how they were brought up, their children, how they perceive you as their relative who's been always there no matter how. But as they grow as an adult, they grow further away. You are excluded. They will not inform you, literally, or invite you to join an investment scheme they want to try out. Why am I being treated like an outcast,
I am not asking for a re-pay, but am I asking for a lot??
But then again, God is still good to me. I still have my job, after resigning from a hectic job, and from what's left with my savings are focused to being happy, doing and planning it all alone, with out them. I only think about the future, with my two grown children and two grandchildren. I may not live for another 10-15 years, but at least, I made my point in life, after decades of only being seen as as ATM after all these years.

I won't go into religion, even though I easily could. Yet I know of no religion that is totally selfish. Not even Atheism.

A selfish belief system truly has no believes. Not even principles. To even have principles it must go beyond yourself.

To help others is usually the goal of most beliefs.

This is why my biggest qualm isn't against religion itself. My biggest qualm was always about " ORGANIZED" religion.

@Birdbox1986 You do hippocrates justice by doing such. 🤷🏻‍♂

Hippocrates believed in the greek deities BTW.

It's in his own Hippocratic oath!
