Shlama al kol bnei enasha la al had bilḥod!!
Anyone can quote a prayer meant to sanctify life in the shadow of death, and yet how often do many use their voices to make death smaller instead? I am sure you understand what I mean here.
The words you wrote ask for peace upon us and upon all Israel..but they do not end there. They are meant toward creating a world where life is not divided into worthy and unworthy. It is not a shield against moral clarity and responsibilities. It is not a bubble of comfort. It is a demand for morality. All lives, even "their" lives.
If you invoke peace, then mean it beyond your side. If you invoke mourning, then recognize all who are mourned.
That's the path of Moses.
Everyone's. Even when the enemies of Moses died, God himself mourned them.
We have choices to make. Either we elevate the words or we hide inside them. Those choices matter.
No matter the religion, no matter the God, no matter the country, no matter the race, no matter the ethnicity.. In fact, even despite of having losses in these conflicts..we have to hold ourselves responsible. It is the only way to move forward. The cycle of suffering will not decrease otherwise.

@Miram there's a reason people just repeat ancient prayers and that's because there is power in the words even if we don't immediately recognize it. sure it's better if you can live by the principles fully but we all know people don't all do that. I'll just say I'm no decision maker but I'm willing to consult ancient prayers which were given to us just because we're not perfect. even the government screws up.
