I Love My Daughter

I cherish my little girl. Every day I tell her that thee is nothing she can't achieve.
When she was born my in-laws were very openly disappointed she wasn't a boy. The only gift they gave was a blue sleep suit and apart from seeing her when she was born and once after they didn't come round for another 8 months and they live 10 mins away.
I love that she loves science and won't be put off by being the only girl in a group. I tell her always she can be anything she wants, just believe in herself.

That's sad..gender comparison and selection..it's dominating thing in many cultures.unfortunately..

I wish she won't feel the hatred and be a lovely child..and enjoy the world. :)

I have a son now too, who I also adore.
It is very noticeable, even to the kids, the way my in-laws favour my son.
I use it as a way to teach my son to look after his older sister and think of her.
