I don't get the concept of being "lonely".

My students always ask me if I have a wife or kids. When I tell them no, then they ask if I have any pets. When I say no, then they say "so you're just lonely". I'm like no, I enjoy being by myself at the end of the day. It's relaxing after being at school and coaching after school. If I had a family I wouldn't have time for them anyway. It wouldn't be fair. I like teaching because I get to interact with kids and help change their lives, but at the end of the day they go home and I don't have to feed them.
