I am a mother

I only recently heard this song when Spotify was on random, and I absolutely love it. I don't ever recall hearing the original (ABBA), but I looked up the clip from Mama Mia 2 and the song, the scene, all of it just encapsulates what is to be a mother. I love my babies so much and wish I could keep them forever in my arms, but loving is letting go. The loves of my life.

This doesn't even come close to ABBA'S, it's completely misinterpreted. I have been an ABBAfanatic since they won their Eurovision with Waterloo a month after I turned four in 1974, I even stayed loyal from 1981 to 1994 when everyone ridiculed them. This is how Mamma Mia is supposed to sound.

@NativePortlander1970 but that's the magical thing about music - it's a universal language that is interpreted by the listener. Just to be sure....the clip I posted wasn't 'Mama Mia' but rather 'My love, My life' from the movie, Mama Mia
@GypsyMiss I only heard the first few seconds of your clip, which is why it sounded off. Here is the original.

@GypsyMiss Listening to the original compared to the movie I will stand by my original comment, the song is misinterpreted by this verse alone,

Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life
Are the words you try to find, my love, my life
But I know I don't possess you
So go away, God bless you
You are still my love and my life
Still my one and only

Agnetha is reminiscing about a past love, not her child.

@NativePortlander1970 and I will once again assert that the beauty is in the eye of the beholder: just as the meaning of a song is to a listener. It doesn't matter what the artist is singing about, but how it touches you and translates to your soul.
@GypsyMiss When songs are misinterpreted in the movies they pervert their original meanings. This is why so many of us original Fans have boycotted Mamma Mia, it's nothing but schlock.

@GypsyMiss There's a reason why us purists exist, we despise the misinterpretations movies like this push.
