What a True Friend Would Never Do
A true and good friend, will never intentionally hurt you. And if they accidentally did hurt you, they'd want to make things right with you again. They love you and want you to be happy. They love to make you laugh.
You can tell a friend is toxic, when they "cause stress and much sadness or anxiety" and "doesn't help you be who you want to be," There's no encouragement. And if all that weren't enough, a toxic friendship can also drain you, IF you allow it. If it starts to go that far, it's best to stop the relationship right then and there. It hurts, because you believed in that person, yet if friendship can't be sorted out, it shouldn't hurt, nor bad things continually happen.
A friend loves at all times. And a brother is there in times of adversity. Proverbs 17:17
