Thought of my grandfather today
So the kiddos and I were out and about and running around. We got a flat tire. I was more worried about how my son would do. He’s been stimming pretty bad the last 24 or so. Luckily there was a paw patrol dvd in the van and he actually fell asleep and took a nap which really helped him a lot. He’s doing a lot better now but back to the moral of the story.
My grandfather was the only man in my family who I was ever able to count on. He was my hero. Losing him fucking destroyed me and then 20 days later losing my grandmother destroyed what was left of me and that was a dark time of my life.
Again that was not the point im all over the place. Where the fuck was I. Oh yeah flat tire. My grandfather taught me how to drive. He helped me get my first vehicle and took ke to get my license.
He had a requirement. I had to know how to change a tire. It was a life skill and it has saved me so much time money and it’s something im so fucking grateful he taught me. I had everything said and done in about an hour I was just more frustrated that it kinda put a kink in the day plans but the kids didn’t mind and now I gotta go get a new tire but at least we are home and safe
But I am just so thankful that we were okay and safe and that I had the skill to get it taken care of on my own and I would not have had that without my grandfather and it just made me think of him and remember all the amazing thing he did for me. I am glad I had one person who didn’t hurt me but better than that he loved me and helped me and believed in me and he even now touches my heart and reminds me of him.
Miss you Pa. Love you. Thank you for being there with us today even just in a thought and a moment.
