Somewhere, I’m Still His Daughter. I wish you were here. 😔

A mother’s love is often spoken of as the purest love in the world, and rightly so. But celebrating a mother’s love should never make a father’s love feel any smaller.

Sometimes, a father’s love is so quiet, selfless, and deeply pure that it doesn’t need to be spoken about to be felt. It lives in the sacrifices he makes, the protection he provides, the burdens he carries silently, and the way he loves without asking for recognition.

A mother’s love is beautiful. A father’s love is beautiful too. One does not have to diminish for the other to shine.

And sometimes, a father loves so deeply that his love becomes almost invisible; not because it is small, but because he has spent his whole life making sure we never have to carry the weight he carries for us.

Some loves are loud. A father’s can be quiet, steady, and hidden in a thousand sacrifices. But if you are lucky enough to recognize it, you realize it was there all along; holding you, protecting you, and loving you in ways words could never fully express. 🤍

good fathers and mothers are underrated

@GoFish Absolutely. We often realize their true value even more when they’re no longer with us.

I would love to be able to think of my late Father that way but alas he wasn't interested in me or my Sister. Living with someone who has no interest in me as a child made me feel very scared and unsafe. He died 9 years ago and my world became less anxious. Been able to make a wonderful relationship with Mum now which is very precious to me.

@CatCatKittie I’m so sorry you had to grow up feeling that way. A child deserves to feel loved, wanted and safe, and I can understand why his passing brought a sense of peace from that anxiety. I’m really glad you were able to build such a beautiful relationship with your Mum.
So true. Some of the deepest love is felt in the things left unspoken. 🌻
