Father's Day is one of my favorite holidays

How would you feel if you toiled over a Father's Day meal: beef tips, loaded mashed potatoes, and a salad, homemade cookies. (I mean cooked everything starting at 5:30 in the morning hand peeled the potatoes fried the bacon clipped fresh chives from the garden ... The whole 9) To be told I thought you were cooking beef tips and rice now that would be a good Father's Day dinner.

If he knew what I was cooking that day, and he didn't make his wishes before that day, I would be pissed when all he could do was complain. Been there, done that, listened to the complaints (random things). So now, I simply refuse to put forth effort anymore knowing it will be met with scorn or insults.
