I haven't spent holidays with my old family almost 10 years now. I am away at work and didn't feel like being around draining people. It is draining to hear gossip and other relatives bringing each other down. I wish I was visiting my adopted family members instead

I took my kids to Christmas with a buddy and his instant family. Had a good time. So much less stressful then going to see people you don't want to see that don't want to see you either
