The rule in my family is either go to school or work. Can’t be idle (especially in the prime of life when young) when parents are working hard to pay bills and put food on the table. This rule is why my father, who was 17 and quit school during the Great Depression got angry at my Grandpa…He was told either go to school or pick cotton and he refused to do either. Go so angry he beat my Grandpa up and went on a crime spree and fled to Mexico for over 2 years to beat the charges.
