@xixgun alimony laws differs in different countries. Like the question you asked these are issues that should be well addressed in the court especially if no child is involved but when kids are involved the children's well being comes first.
For a man that pays more alimony even when the man is earning less that is for countries that understand the equality of men and women and considers women situations in the society. But not in some countries that women are taken as second or slaves to do the men's bidding.
