How To Support An Adult Child Facining Divorce

How have you supported your child when they are facing the realities of a divorce? My desire is for their to be some type of reconciliation. They are newlyweds. His wife got pregnant shortly after, and had a miscarriage 6 weeks in. They both serve in the military. After the miscarriage, they had a huge blow up, and then his wife was deployed. She contacted him and told him she wants the marriage to end. I'm heartbroken for them both.

I've sent him some resources to read. I have encouraged my son to speak to his pastor and therapist. He lives on the other side of the country, and we are only able to talk. My wife and I are there for him as he needs.

Has anyone reading this seen their child going through a divorce? How did you help them? Is there something else I should do that I might help? Thank you for reading.

Not experienced but once the seed of divorce is planted, I think both sides should explain each other in writing rather than on phones. In writing, they express themselves better than speaking thousand words while on phone. If God is willing, both sides will understand each other with time.

Otherwise, relationships now a days are, most of them are like contracts between two people. It happens in delayed marriages as both do not develop a habit of living with each other as they could have developed in their 20s.

In any case, I wish and pray for a proper resolution in favour of both

i don't have any children but sometimes divorce is for the better . it's better to not be with someone who doesn't want to be with you.. but sometimes people reconcile even after divorce.. divorce isn't the end of the world really
