I have had enough.

Yesterdat, while talking with my counselor, I told her I think I'm ready to start taking steps to leave my wife. I have been married to her for literally more than half my life now, and I am just fucking miserable. I have been attacked by her, she has spent all my money, when we have had problems, she has encouraged me to either leave or get a divorce. I deserve much better than that.

For your own health do it. My second emotionally and financially destroyed my life. We had a blowout one day and she said she was going to leave, something she often said. On that day to her surprise I said great get the F out. I refused to settle and told her to file with a lawyer and I paid for it just to get her out of my life. My nerves calmed down two days later even though I knew the tough financial recovery facing me.

@HoeBag So true. I'll never have an ill word for my first but the second I honestly knew better and did it anyway. Case of wrong head thinking.
Vickie proved there really is the right one for us.

@Gibbon So the first one, was it a situation where the marriage had "ran it's course" type thing?

I have been married only once and that was our situation, we basically just wanted our lives back.

BTW my step-dad was married three times. His second wife was the daughter of s4tan.
He said he came home one day to an empty house, thought they had been burglarized, but then realized what happened and it was the biggest relief of his life.

His entire in-law family was basically the Jerry Springer crowd.

@HoeBag The same thing happened to a friend of mine years ago.
Yes the first 4 years were great then as we each changed jobs our social circle separated and we eventually just drifted apart. It was mutual. I recently learned she passed away from illness not long after the pandemic started. I think she hooked up with female scientists she worked with and moved to NC with one of them. The obituary said that's where she passed. I'm just guessing. It's obvious from her younger brothers words she never had another male relationship.
