@campfire = Why did you get married in the first place?
When a person no longer satisfies and fulfills the other person's needs and desires the relationship will almost certainly end. While you may be happy with the other person, that person may not be happy with you for countless reasons, ranging the way you smell to the way you make love to the way you eat food. Sometimes such marriages last just a few months to several decades.
It can be difficult when a marriage ends but it's best to wish the other person love and happiness in a future relationship. That way the chance of one getting angry and committing murder is reduced.
Always be aware that all relationships will end one way or another.

No one enters into marriage aiming for divorce. Always a human tragedy. The only winners are solicitors. A new beginning though, use your time wisely. I wish you well in the future.
I lost everything financially, as I was a carer. My first wife had found a new boyfriend!! Whom she eventually married. I rebuilt.

Divorce laws aren’t male friendly. My ex could easily live off of a trust. However, the trust was revocable, thus the court wouldn’t include it as a source of income. She didn’t work. Both of our children were out of college and gainfully employed.
My wife (who served me) got a ton of cash, retirement accounts, half the value of the house, 100% of her jewelry and alimony (and more).
However, I got freedom. That’s invaluable. My life has never been better. Get out and enjoy your freedom. Mature women are awesome.

@FreeorLonely You dont know the half of it.
Same woman who only worked 13 of 31 yrs together .. 10 of them significantly underpaid and did nothing to try to find better jobs, still hasnt after earning a masters degree last May.
Would be eligible for >$3k/ month in alimony for up to 10 yrs if I didnt get involuntarily retired in December.
That 1/2 of my retirement is a big # .. more than she will earn in her lifetime.
Yeah, its like that.
