I Am Getting a Divorce

It's been my decision but that doesn't mean it has been easy. There is a mix of relief, of leaving an abusive and aggressive man, but also of loss of what I thought my life would be.

Now that we are apart, I find it easier when he is behaving angrily than when he is being nice. He uses these rapidly changing personas to confuse and manipulate me. When he is nice, I don't know how to respond to him. Occasionally his mask slips. It will be something he says or a sneer that escapes from him before he can censor it.
