I Believe In Properly Disciplining Kids

How do you feel about kids who get punished by staying home when their siblings are helping baking cookies for Christmas at the grandparents home. Isn't there another way of disciplining.

I think that could cause them to feel isolated. What do you think?

We wouldn't make our kids stay home but they wouldn't get to have the fun. Tasting the cookies, decorating or any of that. They could go to spend time with the grandparents but that was it. My dad has a thing where if they're in trouble and can't participate he'll take a switch to them and that clears up the punishment. We totally agree on that because he can yield a mean switch and the girls hate it lol. I did too when I was their age but they know its that or not participate. I think sometimes he lets them off too easily but that's the agreement because you can tell they still get it but sometimes not enough.
