My child could reproduce at 10. If some pedophile had abused her resulting in pregnancy, at 10 years old abortion would save a life. You can't convince me otherwise.

@Kenworth4954 Promiscuity resulting in unwanted pregnancy ending in abortion is probably a much lower percentage than you think it is. That isn't the only reason women have abortions. There are MANY reasons but if you make blanket laws against them, with " 'life of the mother' exceptions" providers opt not to treat even those dying mothers because they are afraid of legal repercussions... bottom line women die.

Women die not just because they couldn't get abortions for medical reasons. They start dying in othee areas because women's clinics dry up and access to maternity care for women who WANT babies becomes scarce. Planned parenthood doesn't just provide abortions, they provide access to birth control in the first place. And cancer screenings for low income individuals. PP saved my friend's life because of cancer screenings, and helped discover another friend's ectopic pregnancy that would have killed her. As the maternal health care desert grow larger, more and more women die.

@Starcrossed More stats on the damage the Texas anti-abortion law is doing. Women in Texas experienced a 56% rise in maternal mortality when Texas' new abortion law went into effect prior to Dobbs.

The new Texas law, SB 8, allows MANY more people to sue a doctor who provides that kind of care. It created an "open season" on doctors. Almost any busybody can sue a doctor under SB 8.
