Bad dads suck. Good dads are awesome

@SW-User My overall point is just that there isn't anything special about dads. Having at least one parent or someone to rely on for protection and help growing as a child is important, but it doesn't matter if it's a father or mother.

You must not be close with your father.

@SW-User my relationship with my parents doesn't have anything to do with it, I'm not the only person on earth and I'm saying that based on the fact that...well, it's the truth

@DunDunDun My dad passed away when I was just 9yo. Yes, it did play a huge role, in how I viewed males. This did reflect in my teenage years and my bad male choice. The yin/yang energy does balance us. We need both energies to be balanced.
Most children in single families have dysfunctional traits, particularly boys. Boys need a dad. My 5 brothers lacked a male role model. 2 of my brothers did later be bad boys, they became domestic violence to their wives. Boys need a role model, to show normal, normal behaviors. Else all the dysfunction we see, this dysfunction is around as less children have a dad at home.
Wait another 30 years, see for yourself, till you have lived among the poor, till you have lived beyond 40yo, then you will see the cycle of life.

@SoFine Okay well good for you, but you don't speak for everyone. My point is that not every single female on earth relies on a father figure all that much. Plenty of people grow up without one and it doesn't affect them at all.
