Can Gen Z kids answer basic questions?

I have been watching man-on-the-street interviews of Gen Z teenagers up to 22 years old or so.

There hundreds of You Tube videos. They are both funny and sad at the same time.

It shows that our education system is seriously flawed, and these same people will be running
things in the near future. Obviously this is NOT all Gen Z kids, but I believe it is too big of a
percentage.

You have to watch it to believe it. It is either true, or they found hundreds of VERY talented
actors, but it's easy to tell how perplexed they are by these basic questions, this one for
example. "How many moons does the earth have"

you're absolutely correct. some of the "kids" we hire at work are complete duds. i feel sorry for their generation. on another note there are brilliant young people out there, but like you said the percentage between the duds and brilliant people is too great.

@beermeplease this is complete malarkey and you know it as well as the rest of us do.
@JaggedLittlePill if i knew it was malarkey then i wouldn't have said what i did...just to give you an idea, we had a 20ish person start a new position at my work. he started out as a production worker and helping out here and there in the warehouse. from day number one he couldn't stay of his phone, went outside for too many smoke breaks and would hide in certain parts of the warehouse and again be on his phone. how he could think us "old" people were that stupid to not know what was going on was ridiculous. then when we fired him he asked why he was being fired and that he really needed that job. point is he was a dumb-ass for not realizing what a lazy person he was...when i was that age i would have clued in to why i was being fired.

@beermeplease It is easy to see that, isn't it? Kids are on their phone at work constantly,
Hell, even at the gym, they sit on machines on their phone and don't even realize
they could do that at home, except they love to take pictures of themselves to
show others they were there.
@beermeplease As a former food servuce and retail manager, I agree with you 100%, it never ceased to amaze me how many dimwitted morons would come in to apply, their applications written very sloppy and their resumes full of gaps and sketchy references, I actually had quite a few admitting to selling drugs on the side at previous jobs for getting fired, and several admitted to being under investigation for till theft.

@NativePortlander1970 It's sad isn't it? Parents, and a shitty public school system are to blame
I don't see how these kids will ever be able to take care of themselves. I think they should
go into the military for a couple years, to teach them responsibility, respect, hard work.
@DogMan Even the military has gone woke, a Naval Admiral is an open and practicing trans.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 Yeah, I believe a lot of the trans, and openly gay stuff, has kept
down the recruitment numbers. I don't believe the Army or Navy has met their
recruitment goals.
@DogMan Yep, when the modern military has alienated the youth so much that enlistment is the lowest since Vietnam, they lower their standards and alienate the regular youth even more 🙄🤦‍♀️
DogMan · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 Very sad. I have an analogy about it. We used to go to this bar
and drink and play pool, it was a very busy place. Then it was bought and turned into
a gay bar, it soon went out of business. I guess they thought we would keep going
there. 🙄
@DogMan Indeed, a local church here in Mason City now has a huge banner up that shows they invite the lgbtq to their services, which is in severe violation of orthodox church and biblical policy.
