Goodbye routine

I had the best routine going before we had the bombshell baby news three weeks ago. I went to the gym everyday and had time to keep my house clean and cook from scratch every day. It feels like a distant memory now and the baby has only been home for 55 hours.

New routine is:

making up bottles, sterilising bottles, changing the baby, feeding the baby, feeding the kids, bathing the kids, not bathing the baby because she’ll scream the house down, maybe feeding ourselves, telling kids a million times per day to be gentle with the baby, put kids to bed, never put baby to bed because she’ll scream the house down, watch TV whilst holding the baby, try to sleep in shifts so someone is always holding the baby. Repeat ad nauseum!
4lb 8oz?? Your baby Is so tiny. Is everything alright with the tiny lady?

@nonsensiclesnail She was born premature, addicted to opioids. We didn’t know anything about her until she was born, so we only had 2.5 weeks to get ready for her to come home.

She’s doing well considering but she is more fussy than a regular baby and wants to be held literally constantly. We haven’t put her down for more than 5 minutes since Saturday morning.
@seana That is so difficult!! Im glad she has you to love her.

Bless you for taking care of the innocent and The unwanted. I hope great things are in store for your family and the child.
It’s overwhelming for a while, but it does get better!!! You’ll settle into a new routine eventually.

@InHeaven It is crazy how much chaos can be caused by a 4lb 8oz little human
