Old people.

Calling people names is a bit of an @sshole move.
I wasn't around during Jim crow and either was my 60 year old husband.
Jim crow laws were right after the civil war in the 1860's,some segregation laws lasted until 1971,we were babies/toddlers then.
I got called a kid in my 30's by older folks, never got mean about it.
If it was said rudely, just stay clear of that particular person.

or - perhaps they were getting rid of them BECAUSE us geriatrics were around...

Yep! We are so old we didn't have cellphones, computers or the internet. There was no pizza delivery. We actually had to go to a restaurant sit down and order it. Movie theaters only had one screen. There was no GPS systems. We had to learn to read a map or stop and ask directions. Yep! We are older than dirt! 🙂
