I Want Children
I WANT KIDS. I wanted them years ago. About 10 years ago now in fact. For about 3 years. After that I was just scared to be around lil ones. They're other people's most precious things in the world - no way I'm gonna risk breaking them.
I hate watching lambing. I don't get it. They're all messy and goopey. I don't get the little swoon everyone else has. I hate all the Facebook posts from now, where my young colleagues are hanging with their kids or nephews and nieces.
I haven't done much with my life since the time I wanted kids really, and don't have a lot of potential to do anything with it now either. Raising kids would be a purpose, too. Worthwhile.
For God's sakes why can't we get married already and have kids??
Yet, the fear still lingers. Every baby I've ever seen I've thought was ugly. 5 year olds, cute. 4, cute too. Heck maybe I'd stretch to 3. Before that - not so much.
