I Am a Babysitter
John and Kate have a long standing social arrangement for Friday evenings and since I've been living here I have been their babysitter. They usually out the children to bed before they go out, so my simple task is to listen out for them on the baby monitors to ensure they are ok.
For this I sit in their salon and watch their big TV, they have Sky and NetFlix, so I'm spoilt for choice! I usually manage to find something to watch!
Last night as I was doing all of this their friend Dave Campbell came by. I let him in to talk, he had specifically come to see me to talk about the dinner party we are going to tonight. First off, he told me it's a black tie affair, so a fairly formal dress would be required and he asked me if I had such a dress.
I said he could come look at my wardrobe if he wanted and surprised me when he agreed to look at my dresses! We climbed the stairs to my attic and I showed him the dress I am considering. He liked it, but asked me if that was my only option, would I like to go but a dress!
We went back down to the salon where he sat with me a little while longer and he started talking about himself, to i guess, reassure me that the date 馃搮 would be a pleasant thing and that I would potentially make some contacts for my dress making business. He remained talking, and I got him a bottle beer from the fridge for another hour or so and finally departed a little after ten thirty.
I'm hoping this party is going to be some thing I enjoy because a lot of thought is going into it!
