I Admire My Mother

My mother is an exceptional person, and I would always believe so. By her own efforts, she obtained the highest qualification in her family and afterward she excelled in her working life.

Yet, in her life there were many hardships and dissapointments. Greatest among these was the death of her brother, the scars of which are still evident today. Years have since gone by since then, but he remains a prominent feature in her life.

The second hardship was my father, a man who is remarkable mostly for his absence. This was for his job, yes, as it would require him to go out of the country quite often. This I could still understand. What I cannot reconcile is what he did once he lost his previous postion: he moved across the globe to start a new job (with lower pay, therefore his support primarily was focused on him). This left a woman - who was in poor health, did not have much in the way of family and friends to rely on for support, and had a tendancy for overworking herself - alone.

Despite all of this, she still carries on. I admire her for her wit, her intelligence and her strength

I learned something about life, don't let anyone know that you have a special place for your mother in your heart, because they will use it against you.
Most often, the people who teach us the most don't triumph because of...they triumph in spite of.

Well done your mother. Pity she didn't marry a man worthy of her.
