I Admire My Mother

This picture was taken the day before a long journey began. My mum’s first session of chemotherapy took place the following day after her surgery was unsuccessful. We were sadly told that she could be terminal if her treatment does not work. They found abnormalities in her liver and in her breast, so every bit of me is praying that we see some improvements over the next few months. This picture means so much to me for a lot of reasons. We were both so sad and scared the whole day, but had to put on a smile for everyone else to see.

It is always a long sad journey. Cancer is the one word that strikes fear in the hearts of those that hear it. It sounds like she is strong and worries about her family and what they will bear. I hope for the best.
