@Alexa98 you can be a hard worker and a lazy parent at the same time. i'm sorry that happened to you. people used to give their kids drugs/alcohol back in the day. but your mom should have known better, i think that her generation figured out that was an awful thing to do

Horrible thing to do to a child. It is abusive. Busy or not. It is not a sleep medication. It inhibits acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter required for learning, focus, and memory retention which will lead to the kid laggin behind peers in school. It is also associated with early onset dementia and other problems.
If you can't do what is best for a child, don't have them to begin with. Doesn't matter what your excuses/reasons are.
