my parents have officially divorced today..

i would be sad but i’m actually glad it happened. I don’t know how much longer i could have taken being verbally and physically abused by my dad when no one was around. i never told anyone and i don’t think i will.. it might be best if i just keep my mouth shut like always.

sorry he is like that, glad your mom is getting away from her .. i presume you are going to live with her or have you already moved out?

I had the same experience--abusive alcoholic father and then a divorce which made me happy--never saw my dad again...

@koiboy Thank you--and same for you. I spent much of my life bemoaning my difficult childhood, but now i have learned it wads a blessing--it made me compassionate and caring and a very kind, loving father...as a very wise teacher i had recently said, look at life challenges as growth opportunities
