Sorry, this aunt has no place in my heart.

Silentpleasure · 36-40, F
There is really bad blood between my mom and her sister but that doesn't mean I can't be part of her life. I would give her a chance if she means anything to you and you feel it is worth having her in your life like I do mine.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Silentpleasure Bad blood is one thing. But doing things out of malice is another.

It's like this. I say to myself I hate my brother, and I'd kick him to the pool if I can. But I'd kick anyone who dares to bully or badmouth him in front of me harder.

Feelings to me is one thing. But the actions we choose out of the intentions we let win. This is what can turn a person into someone disgusting.

@GeistInTheMachine She doesn't have one. Maybe that's why.

@Jasmine2026 How do you deal?
id be playing that up... 😈
Ann99 · 41-45, F
If someone doesn’t like or respect your mother, they can never truly be genuine with you either. I would always keep that in mind, no matter how nicely they treat me
Ann99 · 41-45, F
@Casheyane All my life I have learnt one thing that you cannot be liked by everyone. People just see what they want to see.
You are genuine Though I don’t know you personally but it seems that your actions don’t contradict your words; and that’s the best part.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Ann99 Thank you for saying that. I do try.
But about being genuine...for me, it's a matter of right moments. Even a kind person can only offer so much in a given circumstance. But when she tires, she'll want to keep some energy and kindness to herself. It becomes annoying then when people wanna try to get more from you than what you're willing to give.
At least, that's what I learned.
Ann99 · 41-45, F
@Casheyane You're welcome, dear. And please, don't be so hard on yourself. You don't always have to give more than you have to give. It's okay to keep some of your energy and kindness for yourself too. I’m saying this because I’ve spent so much time thinking about others and being kind to them that, somewhere along the way, I forgot about myself. You deserve the same care and understanding that you give to others.

Many years ago I was in that position, but it was more so over a table that my grandfather made. It lasted years, but luckily my aunt didn’t bad mouth my mom, she was just mad.

I think if things are gonna change, it has to be between them.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@MellyMel22 I don't think it's impossible. But if it happens, I don't think it's going to be by choice but forced upon by circumstance.
I keep my distance. They’re a miserable bunch, which makes no sense since my grandma was an absolute angel. Guess the apple fell way off the tree.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@DareToSayIT What happened?
GoFish ·
does she have a reason to or is she being unreasonable? this your father or mother's own sister?
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@GoFish We don't even see each other often. But we still get news of her badmouthing my mom to a third sister whose close to mom. Funny that. Said sister listens though.

Honestly, I just wanna keep my fam away from all of them.

I can't trust someone who's close to someone who hates my mom, no matter who they are.
Not your area of concern.

It's their issue, they'll handle it.
