I was with my mother when the doctors told her she had cancer. The last few months of her life i lived at her home and looked after her. My wife is a nurse so she helped shower and dress her. Mum was strong right up till the end. If you want to talk just PM me

Sometimes words are just not necessary. There is power and hope in silence.
Once, when someone I loved passed, heartbroken I made my way to my back yard to process. At some point, someone came out and sat with me. In silence we sat, he never left my side. We sat for 8 hours, not a word. I have never felt so supported and loved in that way ever, before or after. The power of silence.
A side note. Sending well wishes for your family. Hoping all will be okay and she'll get through and be home soon.

Your dad is in shock, sounds like. But that doesn't mean you should be left to flounder emotionally. Ask the hospital staff if they have a member that you can talk with.
It's a horrible situation to be in. How it feels is how it's supposed to feel, whatever that may be. Don't expect to feel a particular way. These things move organically and you will experience it as it comes. It can be deeply unsettling to see your loved ones so unwell and there are even more levels to that when it's a parent or a child. Make sure that you don't forget to look after yourself. Don't neglect yourself too much because you will need strength to be there for your family. Wishing you the very best.

@InfoTunaBotTheReturn thank you
I think it's perhaps he doesn't yet have the words. Sometimes the reality and impact of a situation hits so suddenly that there's just no way to put it into words the heart and mind feels would even do them decent justice, but one look at his face alone would tell it all. Give him a bit of grace 🥺 and maybe approach gently. You're in a vulnerable position in this as well. I'm sorry this is happening.🫂
