Does your family have a phrase they use when they don’t want to talk to you?

Mine is “ that’s strange” no matter what I’m telling them. It’s my cue that they don’t care and are not listening. Now with as little as I talk, I find this fucking offensive. But it does make me shut up for the rest of the day.

My family was cutthroat - my mom would usually say "Ok, well, I don't care. Anyway..." And change the topic.

Mine just comes right out and says it "I don't care and I don't want to hear about" Their blunt, to the point and it stings. They can break almost anyone into tears if your not prepared for it.

There is a unique pain in trying to articulate deep feelings or sensitive topics, only to be met with a shutdown. It feels like a verbal slap. Yet, in a strange way, it still feels preferable to total silence.

This is funny cause my sibling is an introvert like me so we just didnt talk. Only when it's something necessary or we were making a plan to hang out later.
