Most people call their parents "mom and dad" but they actually find that silly and prefer that I call them by their first names. So I have ever since I was a kid.
My parents are dead, but they will always be Mum and Dad. Something special about those terms for me. They’re different from what their friends called them and only I and my siblings could use them for them.
